Hi, everyone, and welcome to a new blog feature called Friday Night Date! This feature will be hosted every other Friday, here on In My Secret -Book- World were I will be interviewing one of our most loved book boyfriends.
Our guest this Friday is Josh from Soul Crossed by Lisa Gail Green! This guy had my heart hurting and aching and doing some crazy things while I read his book. I was absolutely ecstatic when he agreed to go on this date with me, and I may or may not have taken advantage of this fact to get inside his head and find out more about him. Of course, I also was my usual weird self and asked him questions that weren't all that... normal. He also tried to kill me. You can read how it all went down below.
Me: Hi, Josh! Welcome to In My Secret -Book- World and thank you for agreeing to go on this date with me. I know how busy you are these days.
Josh: Thanks for inviting me. Nice place.
Me: Thanks, so glad you like here!
Me: Alright, before we start, I have to warn you that I'm a very curious person and love to ask questions, so be prepared for a very long interview.
Let’s start getting to know each other, shall we?
Me: What better way to get to know each other than by knowing our best and worst qualities so why don't start by telling me your worst and best qualities?
Josh: I think my best qualities are obvious, don’t you? The baby blues for starters. *bats eyes* And worst? What’s not to like?
*Those eyes, swoons*
Me: A lot of good and bad things happened in Soul Crossed, but what moment do you think will stay with you forever and you'll never forget it?
Josh: You really go for the jugular, don’t you? Okay. I did something I’m not proud of. Lots of things actually, but there’s this one thing – a really bad decision that I was really happy about at first, until I realized what I’d really done. I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s get back to the great hair and have I flexed for you yet? *flexes bicep*
*Wipes drool. Hot damn!*
Me: What was meeting Grace like?
Josh: Grace? She’s amazing. You know it the moment you see her. It’s not just that she’s beautiful because that’s a given, it’s that she’s got this innocence about her. She sees the best in everyone, even those who don’t see it in themselves, and well, she helps bring it back out. She makes you believe in the world again.
Me: Now I know how you feel about Grace but again, I'm a very curious person and I have to know. Which celebrity you would get naughty with?
Josh: *shakes finger* You’re trying to get me in trouble, aren’t you? Good thing Grace isn’t the jealous type. She’s too trusting and genuine. It wouldn’t even occur to her. Oh sorry, hot actress. Right. Jennifer Lawrence is smokin’.
Me: And now to the more random questions, if I looked inside your refrigerator what would I find?
Josh: I quit beer if that’s what you’re wondering. Since I’ve been with Grace. Before though, that’s about it. My dad never bothered with anything else and the leftover pizza rarely made it off the counter.
Me: I don't know if guys do this, but we girls, some of us anyway, usually wonder what it would be if we were a man for one day, so it makes me wonder what guys would do if they were a woman for one day. What would you do?
Josh: *laughs* Probably never get out of bed. I’d be stuck there feeling myself up all day. If I did manage to get up, I’d probably go talk about myself with some other girls to see what they really think of me. Hey – you wanted honest, right?
Me: Obviously you were a bit of a bad boy before you died, can you tell us what the worst thing somebody walked in on you doing was?
Josh: Hah! Probably not what you’re thinking. When I was twelve I shoplifted for the first time. I mentioned before how empty our fridge was so this bag of candy looked pretty good, you know? I didn’t even think about anything else, just eating it, so I swiped it off the counter and shuffled toward the door, salivating. I was almost to the threshold when the security guard caught my arm and spun me around. He’d been in the aisle right behind me and turned toward the counter just as I put it in my pocket. Great luck, right? That’s when I learned to scout out the situation ahead of time.
Me: While we're still on the topic of your life before you died, did you have an imaginary friend?
Josh: I had as many friends as I wanted. I’m pretty likable. The thing is, they weren’t really friends. None of them cared about me any more than I cared about them. We were all too concerned about ourselves and hiding what our real lives were like I think. If you want some advice, if you find a friend willing to tell you the truth and stick around through everything, keep him.
Me: Do you have a pet peeve?
Josh: People that pop their gum constantly.
Me: If you could commit a crime and get away with it, what would it be?
Josh: Been there, done that. Seriously though? If I could do anything even if it was wrong, I’d probably go back in time and rip Cam into pieces before he can hurt anyone.
Me: What would the closest person to you say about you?
Josh: That’d be Grace now. I guess she’d say I’m a little frayed around the edges, but have a good heart. Like I said, *blushes* she sees things no one else ever bothered to.
Me: Guilty pleasure?
Josh: *raises eyebrow* Grace.
Me: Describe a perfect day.
Josh: Lying around watching TV with Grace.
Me: What's your favorite thing that happened in Soul Crossed?
Josh: I liked being a hero for once. I didn’t enjoy being put through the wringer like that though. I mean ouch, what kind of a sadistic person is that Lisa woman anyway?
Me: What can you tell us about the next book, Soul Corrupted?
Josh: I can tell you that it involves Grace’s preoccupation with her jerk of a brother and our search for the next potential Anti-Christ. My old Demon Mentor, Keira is back too. There’s another person I’d love to rip to shreds. Don’t worry though, there’s plenty of me in there. *winks*
*I think he's trying to kill me with those baby blues*
Me: I hope I haven't exhausted you yet, Josh, because it's time for my favorite part of the interview. Quickies!
Josh: I don’t do quickies, but for you, I’ll make an exception.
*Trying to kill me, I tell you.*
Boxers or briefs?
Tea or coffee?
Cars or women?
Ice cream or chocolate?
Pop or rock?
Football or soccer?
Blond or brunette?
You really have to ask? Grace is blond. Before her it didn’t matter.
NYC or LA?
Chicken or steak?
Steak. What is this non-steak you speak of?
Do you want to ask me anything?
I do, but Grace would kill me and I’ve died enough already.
Me: *giggles like crazy* Now I'm thinking about very um... nice... things. *blushes.
Me: *clears throat* Thank you for the great date, Josh, I had a great time! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
Did you see him trying to kill me? In all honesty, I enjoyed his attempts. *stares off dreamily* *sighs*

About the Book:
One Demon. One Angel. One Soul.
Josh lived a reckless, selfish life, so upon his death, escaping the eternal torments of Hell by assuming the role of a powerful, soul-corrupting demon is an easy choice. His first soul assignment doesn’t seem too hard: the mortal Camden is already obsessed with weapons, pain, and torture. If only Josh wasn’t distracted by Cam's beautiful friend, Grace.
Grace never expected to die violently at age sixteen, but now she’s an Angel, responsible for saving a soul. She can already see past Camden’s earthly flaws, so the job should be be easy. If only that handsome, playboy Josh would stop getting in the way.
It’s forbidden for an Angel to be with a Demon, so if Josh and Grace stop resisting each other, the results would be disastrous.
And only one can claim Cam’s soul.
