LietoYou Kindle
LIE TO YOUby J.C. Valentine
Forbidden #2

Publication Date: July 7, 2015

Synopsis: Book #2 in the Forbidden series...

I thought he was the one. I thought we were headed someplace great. I didn't know anything.

My mystery man is no longer such a mystery. He's still commanding and headstrong, playing my body and mind like an instrument, but I'm finding there are layers to him I never could have dreamed. What I've learned since that fateful night in his apartment has me reeling. Now, though, the truth has taken a backstage to other, more pressing matters.

While I struggle to make a choice that will determine the direction of my future, lies that I thought had been carefully hidden away are coming to light. My head is such a mess I don't know what's up or down anymore. Will I be able to sort it all out, or will the life I've worked so hard to build come crashing down in a pile of secrets and lies?

My Thoughts:

I really like the first book in this series, and even though I predicted what was going to happen at the end, I was still left with many questions and no answers when Dance For Me ended in a big cliffhanger. When I woke up around a month ago and found an ARC of Lie to You waiting on my Kindle app, I couldn't resist taking a peak at the book and reading just enough to know what happened next. I told myself I would read just the first chapter. And then I said, ok, let's read chapter two. And when I finished chapter two, I thought, whats one more chapter? And so I continued until I finished the book in one day.

Lie to You picks up a few days after the end of Dance For Me, and Joe is confused and humiliated and has no idea what to do or whats going on, until Ransom tells her to go to dinner with him and visit his family and that she would get to choose and have all the answers she wants. Only, things don't work like that, not with Rebel in the picture.  That man doesn't take orders from anyone, and will not let anything stand between him and what he considers his. While the first book had mostly Ransom, this book was all about Rebel, and I loved that fact. From the first glimpse of him from the first book, and I knew which team I rooted for. I don't like good guys. I like mean alpha-males. I somewhat liked Ransom in the first book, and at one point, I thought he should be the one to end up with Joe, but in this book, I hated him. To say that Rebel stole the show for me would be an understatement. There where moments at the start of Lie to You when I didn't like him and questioned his motives, but as the book went on, I fell completely in love with him, and completely out of love with Joe. I was a fan of hers in Dance For Me, but in this book, I wanted to shake her so hard. She made so many wrong choices, and even though I understood that anybody in her position would be confused and wouldn't know what to do, I didn't agree with many of the things she did. She accused Rebel of doing the very wrong thing she did, and then she just kept getting so angry over things that should've been obvious to her. She let herself be manipulated many times and it drove me crazy.

Nonetheless, I actually enjoyed her relationship with Rebel. They really had no relationship in the beginning, but in this book, we get to see them deal with and try to fit in in the others life. Their chemistry was still there, and whenever they were together, things just kept heating up, but watching them get to know each other and interact in normal day life was something great and I loved the progress they made.

Lie to You is such a compelling read. I had a hard time setting this book down. It's an amazing steamy book that will have you at the edge of your seat, completely captivated by these characters lives.

Dance for Me CoverDANCE FOR ME by J.C. Valentine
Publication Date: April 7, 2015
Synopsis: WARNING: Dance for Me is the first book in a trilogy and ends with a cliffhanger. Due to mature material, it is recommended for ages 17+.
What if the person who stole your heart wasn't who you thought they were?

When my parents passed away, I grew up fast. Learning to stand on my own two feet has been a challenge, but I'm making it... my way. I make no apologies for the path I've chosen. My choices have served me well, but no one knows the real me.

Except one man.

He's a mystery to me. He's controlling, demanding, and he has me wrapped around his little finger. Anything he wants, I'll give it to him. The hours we share together aren't about love. It's just sex. Hot, dirty, passionate sex. It was never supposed to be anything more than that.

Until everything changed.

Now, I'm more confused than ever. The more I learn about him, the less I seem to understand. What I do know is that I'm falling, and I have the feeling when I land, it's going to hurt.
